Firmware 5.4.x {stable}

Will the vehicle brake with full battery?

If configured, during vehicle braking, the controller regenerates and pushes energy back to the battery. If the battery reaches the maximum voltage set using the /driver/limiter/ubmax, the regeneration is limited.

If you do not want to lose braking power, you must not charge the battery to 100% of its capacity and leave some capacity for recuperation.

It is not possible to control brake proportionally without recuperation. The controller is not able to dissipate the energy in the form of heat, and the recuperation energy must be stored in the battery.

warning
  • If you do not set the ubmax parameter, the controller will overcharge the battery and may damage it.
  • The controller also protect itself with hard-coded overvoltage protection, which protects the controller from overvoltage.
